Highlight of the week! First time making homemade bread bakery style from a red Dutch Oven.
Flour, yeast, salt, water… and a Dutch Oven. That’s it. And the taste? Incredible! Take The Keg’s original bread (before they dumbed it down) and amp it by 4x, its that good. Tracy ordered a red Dutch Oven on-line and this week made her first bakery style bread at home, and it was the highlight of the week for the family. It’s obvious many of us are baking more because it sure is hard to find flour. Took three tries until we found what was needed at The Monastery. Comfort food for our new life!
Royal Canadian Air Force’s @CFSnowbirds performing a mother’s day fly-by over Oakville-Trafalgar hospital.
Our much loved @CFSnowbirds performing a fly-by over Oakville-Trafalgar hospital this afternoon at 1:07pm as part of #operationinspiration. A cross Canada tour to lift our spirits as we wait out the worst of COVID-19, while paying tribute to all front line employees who are working right now. It absolutely is motivating to watch the squadron approach and do a loop around the hospital with wings tipped. We got this!
Do you know this car? Let me share a little… Car enthusiasts love the Porsche 911 from 1989 through 1994. Buy one of these pre-owned for between $65K and $170K Canadian and then give it to Singer Vehicle Design in California who will custom restore – or reimagine as they say – as a one off for an additional sweet $475K up to $1.8M US. This here is ‘Malaysia’ (cars get named after global cities or countries) and I found her at the Toronto car show courtesy of Pfaff Automotive Partners (a Toronto auto dealer group). Now I knew of Singer before hand and in my dreams have commissioned a car from them… but in real life not so lucky! Next best is to be able to photograph one. I would say this is a bucket list item accomplished. NOTE: If you are the owner of Malaysia and have found this blog post, contact me and I’ll get you a copy of the picture.
Merry Christmas and best wishes to your family and friends. I tried to get the natural elegance of this house to come through, and not sure the picture does it full justice. Light snow and low clouds are providing the nice glow. And kind of wish I could pull that telephone pole out… but maybe that’s what helps make this house feel ‘real’ in the neighborhood.
We are a few minutes after 8am on Saturday October 26, standing on the Dundas street overpass looking south down 16 Mile Creek. The sun came over the trees about 15 minutes ago, slowly bringing light and life as the birds got going. Mist from the creek rose and a sun haze stretched out across the tree canopy.
Yes this is real 🙂 We watched from the back deck of the house. Not often the sun burns blood orange while the sky stays deep blue. Great way to end the day!
This is how you celebrate a goal at a soccer match… with smoke bombs, drums, oversized flags, and lots of cheering! Hamilton scored the tying goal for Toronto FC at 90+5 minutes of the game on June 7, 2019. Find the guy in the red/white/black shirt holding a smoker stick 🙂
This is Clarkson Cup pre-game warm-up for the Calgary Inferno (red jerseys) and Les Canadiennes de Montreal (white jerseys) at the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto yesterday. A one game winner takes all featuring the best female hockey players in the world. Calgary went on to win the Cup with a spirited 5-2 victory in which both teams demonstrated incredible skill. The women’s game is so fluid and fast paced, making it a ton of fun to watch!
This female American Robin chose the fireplace vent out back of the house as perfect location for this year’s nest. She has two chicks, who on this late evening, were trying to be as vocal as their mom!
The wine at Terroni’s on Adelaide Street, Toronto, is kept in the former jail cells of the old Toronto court house. A vast selection is on display for guests who visit the washrooms, and done up in a very mystique setting!!
