The Season’s Last Pink Rose

We grow a mix of small and large white and pink roses in our home garden. This particular pink rose is the last for summer and fall this year, and was still on its stem in full bloom when photographed at 7am a couple weeks ago.

View Across Half Frozen Snow Covered Lake in Baysville

half frozen lake and snow at the baysville cottage
A look across the half frozen lake from the neighbor’s snow covered dock. Mild winter has kept the lake from completely freezing, and not a lot of snow. The tobogganing was awesome! – particularly under moonlight, however no ice skating this year.

-32 C winter blizzard at blue mountain firehall
Saturday February 13 will be known as the coldest winter day of 2016 at -32 C. and a wind chill pushing -40 C. It snowed all day with blowing winds and poor visibility, keeping us indoors for the day (except for the mandatory after hours hot tub and whisky). Sunday was picture perfect sunshine and awesome powder skiing.

Looking up at Toronto’s CN Tower from the platforms within Union Station, we get a glimpse of the old and new. This area of Union is being rebuilt, leaving the metal exposed and an open roof. Fun how they light the tower at night, creating a glow in the sky.

Glowing Cottage in A Winter Wonderland

glowing muskoka cottage in a winter wonderland
What a difference a year makes! This is new year’s eve coming into 2015, with a fresh 2 ft of snow – so much fell that we chose to stay another day to play outside. Fast forward to this new year, and while we absolutely had lots of fun with our friends, it did not look quite like this. Happy new year to all.

Retired Gentleman Fly Fishing Oakville’s 16 Mile Creek

fly fishing oakville 16 mile creek
This is how I want to retire… fly fishing a beautiful creek on a fall Sunday afternoon with not too much else to worry about. While the picture was taken in color, felt it had more emotion when viewed in b+w.
